Workers Unite Film Festival Begins May 5th

Workers Unite Film Festival 2016 

#WUFF2016 returns to celebrate its Fifth consecutive year in NYC championing global labor solidarity! From May 5th to May 26th they will showcase films from around the world as well as a multi-media production produced right here in NYC @ Cinema Village, The Tank Theater, Union Docs and Videology in Brooklyn, and several union and community center venues around town. #WUFF2016 highlights the struggles and successes of workers in their efforts to unite and organize for social justice.This year their special support and recognition goes to the courageous men and women of all the CWA locals in NYC that have gone on strike against Verizon’s endless greed. Festival themes this year range from major docs on profiling and the history behind Black Lives Matter, to shorts focusing on the Fight for $15 and the struggle for decent wages, workplace rights and dignity, to major feature docs on the battle to keep women’s reproductive rights legal and the fight against corporate domination of our electoral process and daily lives.

The Workers Unite! Film Festival takes place from May 5th to the 26th with special partner screenings on June 10th. Tickets are $10 per show, $20 for full day of films, $25 for any two days and $85 for all 21 days, with a student /senior discount for the full event pass @ $60.
