Special Election Candidate Debate

When: Thursday January 30, 2020 at 5:00 PM

Where: Carpenters Training Center, 2nd Floor Common Room (Enter from Clarkson Street)

Debate hosted by the Independent Monitor. All approved candidates are invited to attend.

Attention All Members of All Local Unions Affiliated with the District Council:

Please be advised that to fill the current vacancy in the position, the New York City District Council of Carpenters will hold a nomination meeting and special election for President of the District Council.

As a reminder, campaigning (including collecting signatures for nomination petitions) for any District Council elected position is not permitted inside the District Council of Carpenters Training Center. However, campaigning (including collecting signatures for nomination petitions) is permitted in any space within the Training Center’s premises that has been rented by a local union for the purpose of holding meetings for that local union’s members. In such circumstances, campaigning must be conducted solely within the rented space and pursuant to any relevant Election Rules and local union rules. All members must be eligible to vote on January 15, 2020 to receive a ballot for the District Council President election.

Important Dates:

  • January 8, 2020 prior to regular Delegate Meeting – Nominations for the Vacate position of President to the Council will take place.
  • January 15, 2020 – All members eligible to vote on this date will be sent a ballot by AAA.
