WHAT’S YOUR MEANINGFUL STORY?
We know there are many stories of goodwill in our union. Help us uncover more stories like this:
Union carpenters from Local 212 in the Bronx were there for Montell of Local 13 Chicago when he needed them the most— when Montell learned that his elderly father, Sherard, a veteran who lives in the Bronx, contracted COVID-19.
As Sherard’s condition worsened, the fire department had to break down his door to get him medical treatment. He thankfully recovered, though his door and lock remained damaged.
Joseph DiNapoli, Lead Manager at the Rep Center, took Montell’s call and immediately insisted the New York City Carpenters would help. He dispatched Council Rep Dave Caraballoso of Local 212, who repaired the door the next day. Montell and Sherard could not be more grateful of the nationwide union carpenters family.
