Dear Brothers and Sisters,
This Wednesday is a time for family, food, and fun. As we enjoy this Independence Day, let us be thankful for our freedoms and all the opportunities that this great country provides.
As a union, we have each other’s backs and we stand together in solidarity, but as we fight the good fight, let us not forget that we also stand together as a nation and as a people. Fundamentally, we all want the same things: A living wage, job security, and the health and happiness of our family and friends. Our forefathers established peace and basic human rights for all, but we must work to maintain it.
In this country and in this union, we’ve made long strides toward securing fair compensation for workers, advocating for job safety, and bringing to justice to those who would try to restrict the freedoms we’ve worked so hard to obtain. Our country gives us the means to share our voices and fight for what we believe, so we must speak louder than our adversaries and fight harder than our competitors.
On this special day, let us promise to always uphold union values and to help guide our nation toward peace, prosperity, and a brighter future for all.
